The World of the Moulin Rouge in the Museum of Fine Arts

Saturday, 5 pm – 2 am
See the world of Toulouse-Lautrec and fin-de-siecle Paris come to life with its clubs, dances and delights.

The following exhibitions can be viewed at the Museum of Fine Arts during the Night of Museums:
- The World of Toulouse-Lautrec – Lithographs in the Museum of Fine Arts (1891–1901)
30 April – 24 August 2014
- The permanent collections of Egyptian Art, Old Master Paintings (Italian, Spanish, French, British, German, Netherlandish and Dutch art), the Sculpture Collection and Art after 1800

Visit to the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition: Due to security issues and limited space admission is available only to limited number of persons with admission coupon that can be requested in the Baroque Hall for free between 4 pm - 1 am, as free places are available. Further informations!

Entry with Night of Museums wristband from 4.00 pm.


Opening time of the Museum may vary for reasons of security in the event of exhibition spaces reaching saturation point. In order to ensure the protection of artworks the number of participants in the programmes is limited and visitors will be admitted in order of arrival.
Expected time of last entry (applicable also to visitors with wrist bands): 1 am.
We suggest visiting our website (www.szepmuveszeti.hu) when planning your programme. The Museum reserves the right to change or modify programmes.

BAROQUE HALL
5 pm – 10 pm
-        Board games of French origin with the participation of the Hungarian Association for Board Games
-        Nine Men’s Morris making workshop
-        Moulin Rouge outfit: headdresses and hats made of paper

RENAISSANCE HALL
4.30 pm – 5 pm Wild Beasts in the Orpheum – performance of Babtársulat (for children)
5.30 pm – 6 pm Danse Serpentine Nouveau – evoking the legendary Serpentine dance of Loie Fuller, star of the turn-of-the-century Paris, in the production of the PR Evolution Dance Company
7 pm – 8 pm KREA Catwalk
A new collection of outstanding works can be seen among the masterpieces of the Museum of Fine Arts. Beside the diploma works of the graduating fashion designers and fashion stylists of the KREA Contemporary Art School, the jointly complied collection of third-year fashion designers will also been on view. The pieces on show for the first time, presented in this particular setting will offer a memorable experience.

9 pm – 10 pm Performance of the actors’ band A.K.T.
French chansons “slightly transformed” – performed in their original language and interpreted by three wonderful actresses, the songs are varied with show-like components, offering a real party atmosphere
10 pm – 10.40 pm OTP Dumaszínház – stand-up comedy by Zoltán Kőhalmi (in Hungarian)
11 pm – 12 pm concert by Boglárka Csemer "Boggie" (vocals) and Róbert Sinha (guitar)
Joint performance by two musicians who have been working together since the summer of 2013 – a true musical delicacy from the boundaries of jazz, pop and world music.

11 pm – 11.30 pm Danse Serpentine Nouveau – evoking the legendary Serpentine dance of Loie Fuller, star of the turn-of-the-century Paris, in the production of the PR Evolution Dance Company

IONIC COURTYARD
6 pm – 1 am
Parisian wine terrace and boule pitch
The atmospheric inner courtyard offers accordion music, cool wines, pretzels and cheese scones with exciting boule competitions on two pitches.

DORIC PYRAMID (basement level)
Screening of French films and films with French themes
